After One Million, Six Hundred and Ninety Three Thousand, Six Hundred And Eighty Four Steps (1,693,684) I’m DONE ‘Walking Away’ #CraigDavid.
Mission to #Walk1000miles in 2021 is Accomplished
I’m feeling a great sense of achievement after simultaneously completing my year long project / New Year’s Resolution with my sister. Where our G O A L was to individually Run, Walk and or Hike 3miles a day, every day for a year. (Averaging 20miles a week) Clearly I cheated because I finished in 11 months but this was due to some longer activities like when in June I did a #100kmWalkIn24HoursAmsterdam – Never Again
The video above wraps up my thoughts & feelings about the project and also what YOU might need to know in order to attempt such a goal.
ie answering the question that I’m asked most frequently when I tell them about the project – What kind of shoes to wear / necessary preparation and above all how to stay on track.
IMO: To complete such a project, the hardest part is simply getting your shoes on again and again. Or as the #MicroAdventuring hero Al Humphreys calls it in his book about being more adventurously ‘The Doorstep Mile’ –
That’s it. It’s therefore quite obvious that I would encourage everyone to consider something small which you might try and implement (every day) next year as a NewYearsResolution for 2022. Ie something which aligns with a wider life goal. Then once you’ve worked it out, make a promise to yourself that you will try your very best to stick to it. But DO NOT worry if you slip up. Just keep going. That’s the key.
Trust me if you do, then I can 100% assure you that you will be blown away by how things will have added up by time next year.
Lastly this project was done for FUN, but if you’re feeling flush or simply appreciate the effort which is required to walk 1000 miles or understand the time it takes to make these videos and want to donate to a good cause then donate some cash to the next homeless person you meet.
