It however was the very first in the series which we produced . This is most evident from the number of ideas which we tried to squeeze in to it. Toomany

He may not remember this, but right now I can hear the words of my art tutor John Gibbons echoing “make #AlbumsNotSingles” – Note this was back in 2004/5 and long before #Beyoncé coined the saying.

From my perspective it still feels somewhat unfinished #WorkInProgress. But I haven’t the courage to trow it away as the single ideas embedded (colour, texture, tone, carve etc ) continue to influence my thinking, even today in the #AmsterdamStudio.

While I love the dripping paint and the fact that I can see the influence of street artists like Pure Evil’s work here. These drips were caused by stacking the work too early. #HappyMistake. It is however Ian Davenport drips & colours that get me every time – go and see his work in real life.
That said, right now I always get slightly anxious when adding ‘autonomous and random drips’ to work at the very end of a lengthly process.
I’m always like ‘DO NOT MESS THIS UP’
