This recent series marks a departure into vivid colour after years of working in monochrome. Based on pixelated portraits of people I encountered during my extensive travels in and across both Africa & India in my early 30s. The works blur the line between representation and abstraction.
Enlarged and distorted, the faces can only be completed by the viewer’s imagination. These portraits speak to renewal and encounter, moments of connection across cultures that shift perspective and open new ways of seeing. Though brighter in tone, the works continue my central inquiry into people, stories, and identity, offering a world of colour as counterpoint to earlier, more fractured works.
