Fragmenting the Canvas: Letters and Numbers in a Geometric Grid

In this project, we shifted our focus from deconstructing individual letters and numbers to breaking down the canvas itself. We divided the canvas into an abstract, geometric grid, where each square became a new space for experimentation. Each grid square was populated with a letter or a number, and through this process, we generated thousands of unique compositions.

By using this geometric framework, we explored the interplay between structure and randomness. The grid provided a controlled environment, but the placement of each symbol-whether a letter or a number-introduced an element of unpredictability. As we recorded and reassembled these grids, new patterns emerged, offering a visual exploration of how symbols can be rearranged in infinite ways while still retaining their inherent meaning.

This project highlights the endless possibilities of deconstructing and reconstructing familiar forms in a controlled yet dynamic system, where order and abstraction meet to create new interpretations of symbols we use every day.
