Gentleman’s Triathlon, 2019

🎉🚴‍♂️ Our birthdays are just one day apart, so back in uni, we would always celebrate together. As we’ve gotten older we also got al ittle bit wiser. Noting that pub golf isnt always a good thing forthe dadbod So, we swapped the beer for bikes and created our own tradition: The Gentleman’s Triathlon. 🍻➡️🚴

Wondering what that means? It’s quite simple, really. It’s a triathlon, but with a twist-a more leisurely, enjoyable twist. Here’s how it goes:

  1. Run: We kick off the day with a relaxed 5K run. Parkrun is ideal if you have a local one! 🏃‍♂️ No rush, just a good start to the day.
  2. Big Breakfast: Next up, a hearty breakfast. This day is all about pleasure and leisure, after all! 🍳🥓
  3. Cycle: Then, we hop on our bikes for a leisurely 50-70 km ride. It’s not about speed; it’s about soaking in the views and enjoying the journey. 🚴‍♂️
  4. Lunch Break: Time for a well-deserved lunch mid ride. Burgers, chips, whatever we fancy-this is an enjoyable triathlon! 🍔🍟
  5. Swim: After the cycle, we hit the pool for a relaxed 1.5K swim. The only race here is to the jacuzzi afterward! 🏊‍♂️💦
  6. Finish at the Bar: To wrap up the day, we head to the bar for a pint and a steak dinner. Because what’s a Gentleman’s Triathlon without a proper finish? 🍺🥩
