A Day in the Masai Mara: Up Close with Africa’s Wildlife Wonders

There’s something almost surreal about being in the Masai Mara. as points it really felt like a scene from a real-life nature documentary. The thrill of the chase, the suspense of spotting movement in the tall grasses, and the breathtaking moment when a lion emerges from the bush-it’s all part of the magic. That’s what makes this place so special. While that is all very true, as the guy at the hotel said “it’s really. busy| and so, if you’re not looking at the action right in from of you, then your literally blocking the view of hundreds of others people that all doing the exact same as you.
but don’t let this detour you, the safari is full of discovery and huge bursts of excitement. I mean who doesn’t like with the world’s most fascinating creatures right in real life.

Our game drive really was nothing short of spectacular. Imagine cruising through the vast savannah, the warm African sun on your face, as our guide expertly navigates the rugged terrain. One moment, we’re watching a pride of lions lounging in the shade, on with the dry grasses. The next, we’re following a pack of jeeps which are in turn following a herd of elephants as they march across the plains. its freaking wild! more so as i think back now writing this.

One of the best bits was lunch, we’d just seen a leopard kill and I swear less than 5 mins up the road the driver stops and says lunch time while indicating for us to hop out from the safety of the jeep and on to the glass below like a lions dinner. – i don’t even remember what we had for lunch, but it was the most memorable i’ve ever had. utterly fantastic.
