L.O.N.E.N.D #4

Day Four:
Waking super early to cook my beans I contemplate looping back home. I mean two more #WildCamping night to get back home. But then I look again and say, ‘I’m here, in Weymouth ‘ – who wants to go home. Now? My heart wants to push west. To LandsEnd – is that possible?

The countryside is however changing. It’s becoming more wild, more hilly and the weather, although in August, is anything but summer. The first three miles felt like a section on the Tour de France. I continue to hug the south Jurassic coast to Exeter. It’s then at the end of the day I realise that I’m in need of a shower. A hot hot shower that is. .
A quick google directs me to Cheryll and her simple yet absolutely adequate Grindlebrook Farm Caravan & Camping Site. Complimentary hot tea is served by Cheryl before and after I freshen up. Wow. I forgot how much I love a hot shower and the feeling of being clean under the stars. It felt like such a luxury to scrub off the grime, the sweat and the dust from the previous days cycles.
Even under a near full moon, the stars burn bright. I find myself in my sleeping bag eating hot ravioli from a can as the cold air blows over the site. It’s utterly wonderful. I’m at peace.
