Remix Project; Sierra Leone (Twilight Show, 2025)

The Remix Project fragments and reconstructs faces to question how identity is manipulated, distorted, and reshaped. For this exhibition, I focus solely on portraits made in Sierra Leone. These reassembled images are recognisably human yet unsettling, echoing both ancestral ties and contemporary distortions of identity. While Remix is a larger, ongoing body of work, this selection highlights a particular slice: faces from Sierra Leone, reconfigured into forms that suggest both continuity and fracture. They grapple with diaspora, belonging, and the ways identity is carried, broken apart, and remade across generations.

While our adventures across West Africa are at the heart of our studio conversations right now, this work is part of a larger, ongoing project: Faces Deconstructed. This series has been developing over many years, and you can explore its origins and evolution on the Project Homepage
