This series transforms BBC one minute news bulletins into single abstract images. By extracting a column of pixels from each video frame and reassembling them, I create stark black-and-white compositions. There is no grey, no middle ground. This binary echoes the way news presents itself as objective truth, even as we live in an era of fake news and shifting narratives where nothing is ever so simple. Alongside the works, video brochures play the related broadcasts as well as random clips from the past eight years. Visitors are asked: has anything really changed? Here we are a church. A place where lessons of the past are carried into the future.
The project pauses the flow of headlines and invites space for reflection.

This series of daily News Scraping has been developing over many years and is is part of our larger, ongoing project: The One Minute World News.
