Each number, from 0 to 9, is intrinsically connected-a combination, in some sense, of all the other digits. Here we’ve taken each number and broken it down before reconstructing them into new shapes. These forms resemble the original numbers, but they also become something unfamiliar-yet still recognisable.

This process has been repeated hundreds and hundreds of time of times, creating a series of unique records of these variations. This work has become the foundation for our exploration of bringing these numbers into the physical world, using materials like paint and wood. However, the concept itself plays with the idea of actualising numbers that, in reality, do not exist. The numbers we use every day exist only as abstractions in our minds-they have no tangible presence in the world.
