Voices of Connection: AMS is more than just a project documenting the lives of vulnerable individuals across Amsterdam. It is a collaborative platform where those affected by homelessness and hardship are empowered to tell their own stories. By placing tools like cameras and recording devices in their hands, we give participants the agency to represent themselves, fostering ownership over their own narratives. This project shifts the focus from passive observation to active participation, allowing individuals to shape how they are seen and heard.

Through a combination of photography, collaborative audio projects, and immersive sound installations, Voices of Connection: AMS brings viewers into direct contact with the everyday realities of life on the margins. It pushes us to listen more closely, to challenge our own assumptions, and to bridge the gap between “us” and “them”-a gap often maintained by misunderstanding, prejudice, or distance.

Ultimately, this project will culminate in a public exhibition, offering an intimate look into the lives of the individuals involved. 100% of any proceeds will go directly to the participants, reinforcing the project’s commitment to giving back agency, representation, and financial support to those who need it most. By showcasing their stories in a public space, Voices of Connection hopes to spark dialogue, encourage empathy, and foster a deeper understanding of the human experience shared by us all.
